Casa Antisanilla – Chakana Reserve

Where the highlands welcome you with the flight of the condor

In the heart of the Chakana Reserve, you’ll find Casa Antisanilla – a front row seat to one of Ecuador’s most awe-inspiring natural spectacles: the majestic flight of the Andean condor. Nestled in the eastern Andes, this warm and welcoming visitor house offers both comfort and a deep connection to the landscape. From here you can enjoy unparalleled views of the cliffside condor nesting sites, all framed by the vastness of the páramo and the commanding presence of the Antisana volcano.

Casa Antisanilla is perfect for those seeking nature, photography, or simply a quiet moment of retreat. Each visit directly supports the conservation of the Andean Páramo – one of the most fragile and vital ecosystems. This high-altitude landscape is a critical source of freshwater and a sanctuary for iconic species such as spectacled bears, deer, wild rabbits, and the Ecuadorian hillstar, a tiny highland hummingbird.

Exploring this land is more than an experience – it is an act of conservation. Whether you’re planning a day trip, an educational visit, or a quiet immersion in nature, Casa Antisanilla invites you to return to what matters most: breathe deeply, look to the sky…and let the flight of the condor guide you.
